Live Nation to Acquire Majority Stake in Three Prague Live Entertainment Venues

Live Nation has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in three of Prague’s leading live entertainment venues, marking a significant expansion of its presence in Czechia.

The agreement covers the 20,000-capacity O2 arena, the 5,000-capacity O2 Universum and the 4,000-capacity Forum Karlín. The companies said the investment is expected to create new opportunities for artists, audiences, event organizers and the wider economy.

Live Nation and PPF Group said they will work together to invest in the venues over the long term. The partnership combines Live Nation’s experience operating live entertainment venues around the world with PPF’s stewardship of some of Czechia’s best-known cultural venues. Planned investments will focus on upgrading the facilities, improving the experience for fans and artists, and supporting the venues’ long-term growth.

Paul Antonio, President of Live Nation EMEA, said Prague has become one of the company’s most important markets through continued investment and long-term partnerships.

“Prague has been one of our most important markets for many years. We’ve invested here by building a strong local team, developing long-term partnerships and bringing major artists and tours to Czech fans. This partnership is the natural next step,” Antonio said.

“Our ambition is simple: build on what’s already working, keep improving the venues and bring even more great artists to Prague, while making the experience better for fans.”

The companies also confirmed that the venues will remain available to all artists, promoters and event organizers. Existing management teams will continue to oversee day-to-day operations, providing continuity for employees, partners, artists and audiences.

Didier Stoessel, co-CEO of PPF Group, said the investment will help ensure the venues continue to serve audiences for years to come.

“For more than two decades, O2 arena and O2 Universum have played a central role in Czechia’s cultural, sporting and social life. This investment represents the next stage in their development and will help ensure they continue to grow and evolve for many years to come,” Stoessel said.

The agreement builds on Live Nation’s continued expansion across Central and Eastern Europe. In recent years, the company has invested in local teams and entered additional markets, including Romania and Slovakia, as it works to bring more international artists and live events to audiences across the region.

The transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals and other closing conditions before it is completed.
