‘SIX: The Musical’ Announces Final Broadway Performance

“SIX: The Musical” will end its Broadway run early next year, bringing more than five years of performances at the Lena Horne Theatre to a close.

The musical from Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss will play its final Broadway performance on January 3, 2027. By the time it closes, the production is expected to have played 2,178 performances.

“SIX” is currently the longest-running production in the history of the Lena Horne Theatre and ranks as the 40th longest-running show in Broadway history.

The current Broadway cast includes Khaila Wilcoxon as Catherine of Aragon, Chloe Tucker Caine as Anne Boleyn, Natalie Paris as Jane Seymour, Olivia Donalson as Anna of Cleves, Aimie Atkinson as Katherine Howard and Stephanie Jae Park as Catherine Parr. Lauryn Adams, Aryn Bohannon, Maggie Likcani and Aiyana Smash serve as alternates.

The musical gives Henry VIII’s six wives the spotlight, presenting their stories as a pop concert in which each queen recounts her experiences with the Tudor king. The production combines historical material with contemporary music and staging.

“SIX” began at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe before expanding internationally. The musical has received 35 international awards, including the 2022 Tony Award for Best Original Score and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical.

Moss co-directs the production with Jamie Armitage, with choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille. The creative team also includes scenic designer Emma Bailey, costume designer Gabriella Slade, lighting designer Tim Deiling and sound designer Paul Gatehouse. Tom Curran provided orchestrations, while Joe Beighton serves as music supervisor and Roberta Duchak oversees U.S. music supervision.

Notably, the Broadway closing does not mark the end of “SIX” elsewhere. A national tour continues to travel across the United States, while the musical remains on stage in London’s West End. Touring productions are also underway in the United Kingdom and Australia.

The show is scheduled to return to China later this year for a 12-week tour, while a new Spanish-language production will open in Madrid in September.

The franchise also recently expanded to movie theaters. “SIX The Musical Live!,” filmed at London’s Vaudeville Theatre with members of the original West End cast, was released in U.S. and Canadian cinemas on August 14. Paris and Atkinson, who are now making their Broadway debuts, also appear in the filmed production.
