Earth, Wind & Fire Postpone San Francisco Show Amid 'Medical Emergency'

Earth, Wind & Fire had to postpone its show with Lionel Richie in San Francisco on Thursday, citing a medical emergency.

The funk band was set to take the stage at San Francisco’s Chase Center on August 6. However, just before the concert was set to begin, the group wrote on Instagram that they are “unable to perform as scheduled” amid “a medical emergency involving a member of our band.”

Ticketholders are encouraged to hold onto their tickets, as they will be honored at the new show date. Those who would rather receive a refund can reach out via point of purchase.

“We sincerely apologize for the unexpected change and appreciate everyone’s understanding,” the band added.

No further information was given regarding the medical emergency, nor a rescheduled San Francisco date.

Earth, Wind & Fire are on a co-headlining run with Richie, dubbed the “Sing A Song All Night Long” tour. They’re set to appear next in Phoenix on August 11, followed by a final gig in Austin on August 14.
